Hanane Bouchouicha-Sykora
The story of Zaphira began when I was just a child. I remember the pain I felt every time I
brushed my hair, struggling to make it look the way I thought would make me feel beautiful.
Those around me didn’t understand my hair type, and their lack of understanding only made
things worse. I can still recall the tears, the frustration, and the hurtful comments that
deepened my sense of insecurity.
But my father's words always stayed with me:
"Don't listen to those who don't understand your hair.
Your hair deserves special care."
In my teenage years, though, I chose to fight against my natural hair and conform to the beauty
standards I thought were expected of me. I used all kinds of harsh chemicals to straighten my
curls, and in the process, I damaged not only my hair but also my self-confidence. Every time I
looked in the mirror, I saw someone I didn’t recognize.
It wasn’t until my late twenties that I embarked on a journey to find products that worked for me, but it was far from easy.
I was constantly disappointed—whether it was the scent, the texture, or the results, nothing
seemed right. This frustration led me to study aromatherapy and natural cosmetic formulations.
I became passionate about truly understanding what my hair needed.
After years of research and experimentation, I decided
to create products that not only cared for curly hair but
turned hair care into a ritual of self-love—a celebration
for all the senses.
Now, as a mother to a beautiful girl with curly hair, I’m
filled with joy knowing I can give her a confident role
model and the positive experience she truly deserves.
